The owners of Sheffield Window Centre are pleased to announce that they have recently expanded their business by purchasing glass manufacturing company Central Glass Ltd. Ian and Joe Hunter have taken over as directors of the company from Graham Warsop who has decided to retire and enjoy some well-earned family and leisure time after 27 years in the industry. The new owners have secured the jobs of all members of staff and will also retain the company’s BSI Kitemark, awarded for quality control processes.
Central Glass was founded in 1996 and specialises in the manufacture and installation of energy efficient double glazed units in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. Their product range includes: misted glass window replacement; mirrored glass; roof glazing and decorative glass.
Ian Hunter, the new Director of Central Glass says “We are delighted to be involved in Central Glass, as we have been working with them for a number of years and feel that they produce the highest quality glass in Sheffield. Expanding into glass production was an obvious progression for us. Joe and I have both been spending time on the factory floor getting stuck into the production process and learning more about the business from our highly skilled team. We would like to thank them for all their help and hard work, enabling us to make the take over so seamless without any disruption to production”
Once they have settled in Ian and Joe will be focusing on product development and marketing, with the launch of a new website planned for spring.
