Extreme door testing at Yale

Extreme door testing at Yale

18th August 2013

We recently took one of our uPVC doors to the Yale/Chubb Custodial testing facility in Wolverhampton, to test it against the PAS 23/24 standards for strength and security. These tests check that a door can withstand a series of physical tests based on common methods of burglary, a requirement for Secured by Design standards set by the Police.

We are pleased to say that after several minutes of bashing, hacking and prying with various tools, all failing to break the lock or handle, our door not only withstood the test, but it actually still opened and closed normally afterwards!

The door was also subjected to an extreme strength test where the weight of a Mini was applied to the frame in order to try and force it open. The door managed to withstand the force being applied to it and did not break or twist.

These tests confirm that our uPVC and composite doors, with the addition of a Hoppe high security handle, in conjunction with the CISA Astral S door cylinder are extremely strong and very difficult for potential burglars to break into. We can say with confidence that our doors are currently some of the most secure on the market.
